The Classic Conundrum:

BUY, BUILD or… BUY + BUILD

Many of us have been blessed with a myriad of options in our lives. As an automotive enthusiast, you’re constantly balancing the variety of trade-offs as it relates to your existing or growing collection of cars. One of the common conversations is around storage and management. Because there are zero car collections sitting-out on the street, the assumption is that car storage and safety management problem has been “figured-out”.

As it turns-out, that’s rarely the case… until now.

Traditional “Buy” or “Build” model:

  • Rental Storage Space - While flexible and easy to start, it becomes increasingly costly and inconvenience as you have to work around someone else’s schedule for access.

  • Private Residence Extension - Building or extending a structure on your existing properly is frequently expensive and unfortunately compromised. Based on your neighborhood, you’re likely constrained by restrictive covenants around appearance, height, and footprint… and when it’s time to sell your home, you’ll need to find a “special” buyer.

  • Light Industrial Building Purchase - Purchasing a stand-alone building requires patience and timing… and a lot of cash. As well as a high pain threshold for routine building maintenance.

The Motor District “Buy + Build” model:

  • Buy & Own Your Space - Like any condo, you purchase the space that is appropriate to your needs that include a variety of well thought-out amenities, such as 14’ doors, fire protection, radiant heat, a spacious mezzanine, plumbing infrastructure, and more.

  • Build-Out to Your Specs - Your new car condo will be “designer-ready” so that you and your builder can tailor the space to your particular needs… whatever those may be.

  • Buy Flexibility & Build Equity - Unlike many other options, your car condo can underwritten by your bank, extended to available adjacent space as needed, and sold to a new owner when the time comes.
